Multimedia Diagrams

These pieces were made during my PhD studies in molecular biology. The main focus of my research was a member of a family of lipid transfer proteins. Here, the paintings question whether scientific research can be directly explained in art, using scientific diagrams as the starting point. Lipids have been represented conceptually through the use of hairpins and clothes pegs, which make direct reference to their molecular structure.
