Cell Paintings
I began making Cell Paintings in my first year at Falmouth College of Arts. I found inspiration in the biology books in the art school library; the brightly-coloured microscopy images of stained tissue sections. Although enticed by the colour and complexity of the images, it was also the mystery that intrigued me, since I didn’t yet understand the image captions or text surrounding them.
